We are a team parish of the Church of England in the Worcester Diocese with two                                              churches: St. Barnabas church in Rainbow Hill and Christ Church in the Tolladine                                  Community Centre. We work together with other local churches in the North East                                     Worcester Cluster. These churches are St. Wulstan's Warndon, St. Nicholas                                         Ecumenical parish Warndon Villages (Anglican, Methodist and URC) and St. Joseph's                               Roman Catholic church, Warndon.

St. Barnabas with Christ Church is a large urban parish on the Eastern edge of                                         Worcester  city centre. The parish was created in 1885 when Claines (the ancient                                                parish of North Worcester) realised that the up and coming area of Rainbow Hill                                                       needed its own spiritual centre. Read more about the history of the parish here.

How to find us

St. Barnabas church is located between Church Road and Green Lane, off Astwood                                     Road. Christ Church is on Rose Avenue in the Tolly Community Centre. For a map to find                                      us, click here.

Getting involved

We welcome all members of the congregation to participate in worship and activities

within the church. If you would like to know more, please speak to a Churchwarden.

People act as welcomers at the start of each service. They distribute hymnbooks

and service sheets and take the collection. They are elected annually at the AGM.

Sidespeople need to be on the electoral roll of the church.

Members of the congregation lead the readings and intercessions on a rota basis.

There are occasional training sessions in church and throughout the deanery. Please

ask to join the rota.

Both adults and young people are welcome to assist as servers during services.

Training for new servers is given and new volunteers are always welcome.

The clergy team are assisted in the pastoral care of the congregation by two

coordinators. If you, or someone known to you needs to be visited, contact

the coordinators who will make arrangements for a visit by one of the clergy,

or a member of the congregation.
